Kingdom Tower

Kingdom Tower in Jeddah will be the world’s tallest skyscraper with a height of 1,007 meter (3 303.8 feet). It will be the first building to reach the height of 1 kilometer.

Although no exact completion date was given, the Kingdom Tower might be completed as early as 2017, and it will have more than 200 floors, with the highest deck observation in the world on the 157th level.

Kingdom Tower is designed by Burj Khalifa architect, Adrian Smith, but many details about the project are kept secret, and will be revealed gradually.

Azadi Tower in TehranIran


  • One of the most familiar landmarks of Tehran.
  • Azadi Monument was completed in 1971 to commemorate the 2,500th anniversary of the Persian Empire.
  • Included in the building is a cultural centre with a library, a museum and several art galleries.
  • Azadi Tower is in fact a great Islamic triumphal arch, and is clad in white marble.
  • The monument acts as a grandiose gateway to the Iranian capital, and is surrounded by a large plaza.
  • Originally called Shahyad Tower, after the Islamic revolution the name has been changed to Azadi Tower, meaning, Freedom Tower.

Built in 1971 in commemoration of the 2,500th anniversary of the Persian Empire, this “Gateway into Iran” was named the Shahyad Tower, meaning “Kings’ Memorial”, but was dubbed Azadi (Freedom) after the Iranian Revolution of 1979. It is 50 meters (164 ft) tall and completely clad in cut marble.
